Introducing the Logical Framework
3
Where did the Logical Framework Come From? It’s about 40 years old, and has its root in multi-complex projects across numerous for-profit and not for profit enterprises I have used it successfully as basis for numerous projects in global and local enterprises I have studied other university “products” and believe they all spin off from this concept; so when you are done here, you should be able to understand any other book on the topic
4
What Makes The Logical Framework Different than other Project Methodologies? Because it "fits" any project from simple to complex.
5
Logical Framework Origins It’s a good/simple tool to learn to theorize about complexities you have not yet faced in your working lives It fits well into other PM methodologies: Agile, SCRUM, etc. More on its provenance here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Logical_framework_approach http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Logical_framework_approach
6
Limits of Any PM Technique or Framework include what you, only you, can do You need to relate the technique to numerous examples because of what you know, not what you have read You need to develop a team You need to ask lots of questions You need to present your plans so that everyone understands
7
Terry S in Action – Note what he calls “inputs” are actually “activities” but the terminology doesn’t alter the model’s utility. In fact, I will provide you with a form I modified that may simplify further for you. Conceptual Foundation of the Logical Framework
