3.  Involves using trained pets, especially dogs to help abused and at-risk children  Pet therapy dogs bring happiness to at-risk children  They teach them respect and discipline

4.  Volunteers visit facilities that house abused children along with therapy dogs  They allow children to play with the therapy dogs and this improves their self-esteem

5.  You can volunteer if you have a dog that can get along with children  You will need to attend a session at Gabriel’s Angels, a non-profit organization that provides pet therapy

6.  Gabriel’s Angels is named after Gabriel, a Weinmarner who started giving therapy to abused children in 2000  He passed away in May 2010 after changing the lives of hundreds of children in the Valley
