WHST.9-12.5 Develop and strengthen writing as needed by planning, revising, editing, rewriting, or trying a new approach, focusing on addressing what is most significant for a specific purpose and audience. (HS-PS1-2) WHST.9-12.7 Conduct short as well as more sustained research projects to answer a question (including a self-generated question) or solve a problem; narrow or broaden the inquiry when appropriate; synthesize multiple sources on the subject, demonstrating understanding of the subject under investigation. (HS-PS1-3)

Sample Measurement: The following sample measurement strands are provided to guide the development of measurable activities (at different levels of proficiency) to assess students’ attainment of knowledge and skills related to the above performance indicator. The topics represented by each strand are not all-encompassing.  CRP.01.01.01.a. Define personal responsibility and distinguish how it applies in workplace and community (e.g., make educated choices, listen and follow directions, ask for help when needed, meet expected standards, etc.).

12 Responsible citizenship is an asset that is respected by others.

13 Many service projects require volunteerism. A volunteer is an individual who willingly performs a service without monetary rewards.

14 Volunteering in time of Need Sometimes people are called to provide volunteer service during periods of disaster.

15 Team Work Service projects teach people to work together for a common cause.
