Symptoms May include pain, sensitivity and swelling near or on a joint, stiffness that can restrict the movements of a joint and cause pain.

Prevalence Tendonitis can affect anyone but is common in adults if they are active in sports and Elderly because their tendons are aged and have lost some elasticity.

Causes The most common cause is from playing sports by; Over using a tendon Injuring a tendon Tendonitis can also be caused by certain antibiotics such as; Levofloxacin ciprofloxacin

Treatments Pain killers to help stop swelling and pain such as; Aspin Ibuprofen Adequate rest, RICE (rest, ice, compression, elevation), Whirlpool, Ultrasound methods to relax muscles, or injecting steroids

Interesting facts A good way to prevent tendonitis is to do warm up exercises before strenuous activities and some cool down exercises after Some jobs require you to constantly do activities that can put you at risk of tendonitis such as; Repetitive movements, Reaching over your head frequently, and Vibrations.
