Nigeria: -has Africa's largest population (150 million people)!!
-second largest country in West Africa -has Africa's largest population (150 million people)!! -has one of Africa's strongest economies! Secede- means to break away from the main country.

What does export mean??? Nigeria:
- Nigeria has some of Africa's richest natural resources -Oil accounts for 95% of the country's export earnings. -although Nigeria is rich in resources many Nigerians are poor. Why are they poor?? What does export mean???

Senegal and Gambia: -Senegal wraps around Gambia
-this strange border was created by French and British diplomats during the colonial era -Senegal is larger and richer than Gambia -Peanuts are both countries major crops.

Guinea, Guinea-Bissau, aNd cape verde:
-Guinea and its neighbor Guinea- Bissau are very poor countries, Guineas main natural resource is bauxite, which is used to make aluminum. -Cape Verde is a group of volcanic islands in the Atlantic. It is West Africa's only island country. Cape Verde has one of the most stable democratic governments in Africa. -Tourism is Cape Verdes main resource.

Liberia: -Liberia is Africa's oldest republic
-It was founded by AMERICANS in the 1820s as a home for freed slaves -The freed slaves and their descendants often clashed with the Africans who already lived there because they were often poorer, these conflicts led to a Civil War in the 1980s.

Ghana and Cote d’Ivore (*The ivory coast):
- Ghana is named for an ancient kingdom. - The ivory coast is a former French colony -both of these countries have rich natural resources; Gold, Timber, and Cacao. - The ivory coast is a world leader in the export of cacao and coffee but Civil War has hurt their economy.
