Congruent Angles- Angles with the same measures – The rays do not have to be the same lengths Vertical Angles- Angles formed by intersecting lines (opposite angles are congruent) Supplementary Angles- Two angles that have a sum of 180° Complementary Angles- Two angles that have a sum of 90°

To find missing angles Write an equation based on the properties of the angles you are given. Example 1) 42x What type of angles are these? x + 42 = 180 -42 -42 x = 138° Supplementary

70 x What type of angles are these? Complementary x + 70 = 90 -70 -70 x = 20° The missing angle is 20°.

x 2x 3x The three angles form a straight angle so they add up to…. 180° x + 2x + 3x = 180 6x = 180 6 6 x = 30 So the angles are 30°, 60°, & 90°.
