1.What does “distribute power” mean? What person(s) or group(s) is in charge of making decisions in the government. Sometimes it is distributed to many groups, and sometimes in the hand of one group Also called “levels of government”

2. What are the 3 ways power is distributed? Unitary Confederation Federal

3. How does a unitary form of government distribute power? Example? Power is concentrated on one group “Authority is centralized” Unitary does NOT equal bad Life example: Communist party in China, small countries School example: Cobb County Central Office & School Board

4. How does a confederation distribute power? Examples? In confederations, states or countries keep their own power but work together for a common cause They do NOT try to take power from each other Life example: EU School example: Team 7-1 or Team 7- 2

5. How does a federal government distribute power? Examples? Power is in several places—some in central government, some in regions or states. More people make decisions. Life example: US government has state and national parts School example: Cobb County rules & Daniell Middle rules.
