2 Eye Safety Goggles must be worn when using fire, chemicals, or sharp objects and must remain on until instructed by teacher to remove Eye wash should be used for 15 minutes if chemicals get in eyes

4 1. Put long hair into ponytail when using heat or chemicals.
2. Use tongs or heavy gloves to handle hot items. 3. Do not put your face or hands over any boiling liquid. 4. Use heat-proof glass. 5. Never point container at anyone while it is being heated. 6. Turn off the heat source as soon as possible, and do not move it.

7 Do not leave electrical cords where someone could trip over them.
Keep cords away from a heat source and water. Grasp the plug to disconnect equipment. Do not pull on the cord. Never use equipment with a frayed cord.

Many chemicals can stain or dissolve fabrics. Aprons should be worn to protect your clothing. Check your lab write-up or MSDS sheet to determine if tongs are needed to handle containers of chemicals.

2. When acids are combined with water they can splash cause a chemical burn on your skin. 3. If you get any chemical on your clothes or your skin, immediately wash with water, and notify the teacher .
