Do you employ certified coders? If so, they will require extensive ICD10 Training Do you have an EMR? If so, the vendor should have a plan for ICD10 and system will require testing External billing company? Testing with top Payers and/or Clearinghouse? Plan for paper process? Physicians need to know specificity that is required for their specialty. Find the right training. May need to coordinate with Meaningful Use or Electronic Health Record Projects Cash flow may be impacted during initial months after ICD10 Critical Factors to Consider 6
