4. Fractions to Decimals (Objective 1): SWBAT convert fractions to decimals To change a fraction into a decimal, we must divide the fraction. Example 1: What decimal is the same as 3/8? Helpful Hint: “Top dog gets the house”

7. Fractions to Percent (Objective 2) : SWBAT convert fractions to percent using multiple methods : We can convert fractions into percent using two methods. Select the method that is most comfortable for you! But you need to be familiar with both!

8. Method 1 ▪Convert fraction to a decimal ▪MULTIPLY that decimal by 100, which means you MOVE the decimal over two spaces to the right.

9. Example: 2 = 7 Decimal to Percent=

10. Method 2 Example: Convert 4/5 into a percent. Step 1: Set the fraction equal to “x over 100” Step 2: Cross-multiply the proportion, then solve for x. Whatever x equals will be your percent.
