Recommended Course Development Process 7 Plan Course Developer (CD) schedules meeting with an instructional designer (ID) CD provides the ID information about the course CD and ID review and discuss the QM Standards CD complete Vision and Arc Statements; ID creates a project schedule Design CD meets with ID to discuss the creation of modules and the syllabus for their course CD completes the Module Planning Worksheet CD completes the Syllabus Worksheet and Communication Plan CD submits Module and Syllabus worksheets and Communication Plan to ID Build CD reviews existing course content for apppropriateness for an online environment CD researches availability of proprietary and/or open-source content and resources CD creates instructional content and seek assistance from ID and Media staff, as needed CD adds her content to Blackboard for ID review Assess ID serves on peer review team and helps to schedule when review will occur CD grants guest instructor access to their course for QM peer review CD revieews peer review feedback and immediately updates course based upon any major concerns Final QM report sent to dean and/or department head who approves course can be scheduled and taught
