What is Advocacy (n.) support encouragement backing sponsorship promotion

Why do we do it? (or need it?) - because it is part of our mandate (i.e. an issue of justice and equity, serving the poor) - because we need support and encouragement (self promotion)

Who is the target? International Agencies National Government Ministries Donor Partners Communities we serve & general public

What do we need to do it? INFORMATION statistics (appropriate, complete, accurate & up-to-date) narrative reports Photographs stories Resources (Human, Financial & Technical)

How is it done? Media – printed brochures, video, radio Internet – web pages Presentations – Conferences, meetings Informal meetings

What do we expect from it? Increased awareness Support (mobilisation of resources) Increase in Morale
