2  In your NOTEBOOKS (not collected), write down what you know about Hurricane Sandy.

4  The last day you may re-take quizzes that you have failed is Tuesday, November 6 th !  Set up a time to re-take the quiz if you choose  I will not be allowing any make-ups after that!

7  By the end of the lesson, CWBAT analyze the factors contributing to Hurricane Sandy’s extreme damage and write a short essay on those factors.  CCSS.ELA-Literacy.RST.11-12.2 CCSS.ELA-Literacy.RST.11-12.2 ▪ Determine the central ideas or conclusions of a text; summarize complex concepts, processes, or information presented in a text by paraphrasing them in simpler but still accurate terms.

10  Using online sources, research Hurricane Sandy.  Create a 1.5-3 page typed report on this abnormally large storm.  12 point font (Times New Roman)  1.5 spaced  Heading (Name, period #, “Hurricane Sandy”): Single-spaced  Include:  Why it is so much more powerful than most hurricanes  Statistics on destruction  Interesting facts ▪ Example: How it is affecting Chicago, etc.  A list of sources ▪ Separate from report length ▪ Only need the name of the site and the web address  Due Thursday, November 1 st (06) or Friday, November 2 nd (03)  NO E-MAILS! Hard copy only!
