1 TRUE WORSHIPPER The English word WORSHIP comes from the Old English word WORTH SHIP, word which denotes the WORTHLINES, of one receiving the special honor or devotion. March 21, 2010 Teddy Chang

2 I. In Old Testament time Abraham Genesis 12:8 “ 8 And he removed from thence unto a mountain on the east of Bethel, and pitched his tent, having Bethel on the west, and Hai on the east: and there he builded an altar unto the LORD, and called upon the name of the LORD.”

3 Moses (Exodus 25-31;35-40) David 1.Psalm 29:2 “ Give unto the LORD the glory due unto his name; worship the LORD in the beauty of holiness.” 2.Psalm 95:6 “O come, let us worship and bow down: let us kneel before the LORD our maker.”

4 3.Psalm 100:2 “Serve the LORD with gladness: come before his presence with singing.” II.In New Testament time Wise men Matthew 2:2 “Saying, Where is he that is born King of the Jews? for we have seen his star in the east, and are come to worship him.”

5 Jesus and the Samaritan woman John 4:23-24 “But the hour cometh, and now is, when the true worshippers shall worship the Father in spirit and in truth: for the Father seeketh such to worship him. 24 God is a Spirit: and they that worship him must worship him in spirit and in truth.”

6 III. TODAY Jesus vs. Satan Matthew 4:9-10 “ 9 And saith unto him, All these things will I give thee, if thou wilt fall down and worship me. 10 Then saith Jesus unto him, Get thee hence, Satan: for it is written, Thou shalt worship the Lord thy God, and him only shalt thou serve.”

7 Follow in Jesus’ footsteps 1.Young adulthood 2.Middle adulthood 3.Later adulthood. What do YOU do when YOU already hear the title of “FOLLOW IN JESUS’ FOOTSTEPS”? John 12:26- “ 26 If any man serve me, let him follow me; and where I am, there shall also my servant be: if any man serve me, him will my Father honour.”
