1 Otis Boykin By: Austin Broussard

2 General Information Otis was born on August 29, 1920.
He was born in Dallas, Texas. He graduated from Fisk college in Nashville, Tennessee at the age of 21. He died of heart failure in Chicago at the age of 62.

3 Adult Life After college he got a job as a lab assistant for Majestic Radio and TV Corporation. He later became the supervisor of both. He later worked with PJ Nilsen Research Laboratories before he stared his own business, Boykin-Fruth Incorporated.

4 Inventions He invented many electronic devices like a wire precision resistor, this resistor is used in making TVs, radios, and other electronics. Two years later he made a device that can withstand extreme climates and pressure that is now used in creating guided missiles and IBM for computers. His most famous invention was the control unit for the pace maker. Before his death he had 26 patents in all.

5 Impact on The World He made a device that can save many peoples live from heart failure. He also made a device that’s inside many electronics that we use today for everyday things, like computers and TVs.
