This is very good for safety/security concerns.  Electronic payments also allowed the Treasurer to NOT have to be present at the check-in table during the dinner and before the lecture. However, SOMEONE still had to be there to hand out nametags and check people in for dinner. In the case with Hallion, that person was an OAI employee.  Electronic payments with a deadline helped minimize the “no- show” situation where people RSVP but don’t show up. This costs NOS money in food ordered but not paid for.  Century Federal Credit Union does work with PayPal 13
