AIMS To gain a more detailed insight into the organs of power (Congress, Presidency and the Supreme Court are at the heart of unit 4 at A2) To gain a better understanding of American politics, attitudes and culture

ITINERARY DAY 1 SAT 28 TH MARCH 0315Minibus Departure from Cattle Market to Heathrow 0540Check in T5 0840Flight UA923 depart LHR (Baggage allowance 23kg) Breakfast and Lunch provided Reminders: One item of hand luggage maximum 23x36x56 cm Liquids must be in individual containers, no greater than 100ml capacity All liquid containers must be placed in a transparent, re-sealable bag (ie. with a zip or pressable seal). The bag must be no bigger than 20cm x 20cm (8ins x 8ins), and a maximum of one litre in capacity No “pointy” items – includes nail scissors etc.

ITINERARY DAY 5 WEDNESDAY 1ST APRIL 0800 Breakfast at hotel 1000 ‘Duck Tour’ of Washington 1130 War memorials, Lincoln Memorial and Washington Monument 1230 Lunch (money needed) 1400 Museums (Students will have a choice from: Museum of National History, Holocaust Museum, Museum of Art, Science Museum) 1630 Return to hotel 1830 Washington Wizards basketball game (dinner at venue included)

WHAT TO BRING Passport ESTA authorization WARM clothes, gloves, hat, scarf etc. A smart outfit for Capitol Hill Club Comfortable/waterproof shoes Warm and waterproof coat Sunglasses Money for lunches and general spending £200? 23kg luggage allowance

BEHAVIOUR No alcohol, smoking, drugs Always stay in groups of a minimum of 3 No going out of hotel at night without a member of staff Courtesy to other passengers on the plane and guests in the hotel A serious offence may result in a student being sent home at their parents’ expense

HEALTH ISSUES Medical information will be taken – please contact school with any new information Contact details will be as per last summer – please update if necessary Make sure any medication is brought Please inform us of any changes or particular issues Keep us informed of issues, however small
