2 AP Seminar Schedule 10/10  Objective: Synthesize group research and findings into a single conclusion  Essential Question (EQ): How do we treat disease and diseased persons?  NEW RESEARCH QUESTION: “What could the US Government have done to prevent the spread of Ebola into this country?”  Add in new material into the paper, discussing additions  turn in your additional writing  Develop thesis  Brainstorm ideas for the conclusion and begin to write it  Pass out group project time table and discuss new theme  HW: Find one excellent source on the new theme, print it out, and bring it to class tomorrow. If it is web-based, email me the link as well. Reminders: Find one excellent source on alternative energy for 10/11 ● Develop a research question and find two related sources for 10/12 ●

3 AP Seminar Schedule 10/11  Objective: Develop a research question as a result of inquiry  Essential Question (EQ): How do we develop viable alternatives to fossil fuels.  Turn in new language  Take out new sources and discuss avenues for a research question  TED TALK on alternative energy  analysis of “The Scream”  continue discussion  HW: Create a research question with the “Developing Your Question” sheet and find two new sources related to your question. Reminders: Develop a research question and find two related sources for 10/12 ● Get sources on three different perspectives through 1 to 2 lenses for 10/14

5 AP Seminar Schedule 10/12  Objective: Develop a research question as a result of inquiry  Essential Question (EQ): How do we develop viable alternatives to fossil fuels.  General Source discussion, including the TED Talk  Get into groups and exchange your question with one partner  read your partner’s question and find at least three places in the source material where you can begin to make an argument about it  share suggestions with your partner  Back in group: narrow your topic down to a single research question  then parcel out areas of research for individual papers  HW: Compile sources on at least three different perspectives in 1 to 2 lenses and bring those sources, labeled by perspective, to class on Friday. Reminders: Bring laptops and writing materials for Friday, 10/14 ● Get sources on three different perspectives through 1 to 2 lenses for 10/14

6 AP Seminar Schedule 10/12  Objective: Synthesize group research and findings into a single conclusion  Essential Question (EQ): How do we develop viable alternatives to fossil fuels.  Work in computer lab  By end of class, turn in: Thesis and at least three topic sentences with notations on what sources you will use in each paragraph, once written  HW: Turn in at least one paragraph on Monday. All three will be due Tuesday. Reminders: Turn in thesis and at least three paragraphs on Tuesday 10/18
