2  Making inferences using pictures, videos, and stories.

3  Making inferences basically is figuring out something that wasn’t completely explained in the story!  You use clues from the story to make a GOOD GUESS about what is happening and what will happen.

4  You are using what you read AND what you already know to put the pieces together.

5 Thinking about… Clues from the text What I already know. How a character handles change and conflict How a character feels What a character says The character’s actions My own experiences

6  There are four bags. Each bag has items in it.  Looking at the items in the bag, what do the clues tell you about where the person may be going?  Quietly, without BLURTING, write down what you believe the person will be doing after school today.  Try to get the full picture. Think about why each item is needed. Tell as much information as LOGICALLY POSSIBLE. (Don’t make up what you can’t figure out!)
