Always use proper eye protection.

Make sure all guards are in place and operating correctly.

Make all adjustments and remove chips with the power turned off & machine is at a dead stop.

Never use the miter slide and the fence together in the same operation.

The saw blade should extend above the stock being cut by the depth of the blade.

Never saw freehand. Use the fence for ripping or the miter slide for cross cuts.

Never reach over the blade.

Get the Teacher’s help when sawing large stock or when using dado cutter head.

Use a push stick when ripping

Do not stand in line of the cut when operating the saw, stand to the left of the stock & blade.

Be sure the blade has come to a dead stop before leaving the machine.

Helpers never pull material through the blade the only support the stock.

What does the table saw want to do?
When ripping the stock wants to : Move Back Kick up Away from the Fence

What to do? You must over come the 3 forces of ripping by:
Pushing forward Pushing down Pushing towards the fence
