4 Components Of Project Problem Formulation Review of background theory Literature Review Development and Verification of the Model Experiments / Simulation / Solution of the Problem Presentation of Results Summarize the Project Recommendations for Future Work
5
5 Problem Formulation Title Aim Objectives Methodology
6
6 Title, Aim and Objectives Title should reflect the key aspects of the Project Title should be self explanatory for the scope of the Project Aim preferably a reworded “Title” with possible addition of extra words Objectives should be bulleted
7
7 Objectives and Methodology At least 4 objectives including the literature review Listed Objectives should exhibit continuity and coherence Methodology - For each objectives, preferably at least 2-3 bulleted details of realizing it More the detailed information on methodology, better will be the clarity
8
8 Background Theory Principles and Assumptions Understanding of key definitions and its implications Standard Formulae, units and relation between important parameters Merits, Demerits and Applicability Relative comparison with peripheral topics
9
9 Literature Review At least 10 papers from renowned journals must support problem formulation Understanding the important attributes of the papers Should be in a position to explain the contents in own words Best aspect and short coming of the paper Relate how the listed papers have relevance to the chosen Project
10
10 Development and Verification of Model Before choosing the model, it should be experimented for its basic generic functionality The intended output from the chosen model should be validated Experimental / Numerical / Analytical Once validated for well known standard parameters, with confidence the model can be modified/extended to suit the problem formulation Flow Chart/Block Diagram
11
11 Experiment /Simulation of Formulated Problem Extensive validation of the previous model which laid the foundation for Project May involve additional parameters New Applications More Constraints on the input and output Core Contribution of the entire Project
12
12 Presentation of Results Tables Graphs and Contours Photographs Can be any of the three or all Justification of Realization of Objectives Relevant Discussions Propose Recommendations with substantiation
13
13 Summary Summarize the : Steps Set scope Realized Objectives Accomplishments List the challenges faced Comment on unrealized Objectives
14
14 Conclusions Conclusions- Technical Summary Comment on the Technical aspects Parameters and Output Statistical and Analytical Highlight the contributions of the project Place specific emphasis to differentiate your work with respect to prior techniques Justify any deviations that was apparent in the results Reasoning the possible cause for the deviations
15
15 Recommendations For Future Work Substantiation Based on your results, analysis and literature review Future recommendation should be narrated with that aspect of the project that could not be undertaken Highlight what additional value the recommended suggestions would bring out Keep in mind the viability and relevance of the recommendations
