Mali is a country in Africa. It is a long way away from us and it is surrounded by land. us Mali

The north area of Mali is a desert with lots of sand. The south area is a savannah with some green trees.

This is the flag of Mali. It is green, yellow and red.

The Niger is a river which runs through Mali. It is very important to the people of Mali. Bamako is the capital city of Mali. It is by the river.

The people of Mali have different cultures, just like in our country. This depends on where in Mali they live. They speak French as well as local African languages.

There are different types of homes and buildings in Mali. Some are built into the hills and many are made of mud.

Many children in Mali are poor and are not always able to go to school. Many have to work or help at home by fetching water and looking after the younger children.
