F I A National FIA Users Group New Orleans, March 2009 The Nation’s Forest Census FIA TPO History TPO was one of FIAs first national applications Traditional mill study approach- not much has changed TPO was the first on-line DB – only updated every 5 years Most productive pub effort in FIA – 5 to 10 per year Utilization studies provide estimates of logging residues Loose linkage to FPL work No import/export, nontimber or services components
