Having the right people for the right positions and understanding their duties Making sure that they are treated well and are given all of the resources to help them – Coaches, Managers or League Directors Ensure that any issues that arise are dealt with in a quick manner The Board backs decisions or recommendations; listen to what they say as they are the eyes and ears at the rinks

Trying to get more people involved This season we are going to set up Committees in our Association in which we will ask our Coaches, Managers and Parents to come aboard Have had many challenges over the years; have lost some really good people for many different reasons With the beginning of each season we seem to get everything in place and have a successful year

Minimal rules and control over team operations - we give volunteers opportunity to make their teams their own and set their own budgets and rules. But back them up when they need it. choose non-parents over parents for coaching positions and try to maintain team staffs year-after-year, rather than moving up with their kids encourage rivalries amongst local teams strong working relationships between convenors, coaching staffs and the association we spread out the work over lots of volunteers so few individuals are overly burdened
