Team Churro: Sharon Grimshaw, Maggie Su, Louis Yi, Morgan Zheng
2
Revisited Goals Safe and sturdy All connected to one Easy to use and maintain One container to load Cooking time preset User choice in length and shape of churro
3
Logistics Schedule Still a little behind schedule Planned to have two prototypes, changed to one virtual prototype (continually updated) and one physical prototype (modified to match the virtual prototype) Realized that we didn’t have all the parts we needed so we had to do a second round of ordering Trouble with what voltage to use, 5V or 12V Budget (currently at $130) Getting closer to the $250 but still on track to be under- budget
4
Mechanical: Overview
5
Mechanical: Modifications Left: Extruder device Right: Exchanger
6
Mechanical: More Modifications in progress Churro ramp Sugar tray shaker
7
Mechanical: Current Look NEXT STEP: Fully assembling and testing subsystems
8
Electrical: Overview
9
Electrical: Problems Steppers Speed/Torque Stopping Servos Power draw Thermocouple Amplifier connections
10
User Input Mechanical: Buttons Software: GUI Pros: Easier to keep clean Simple to make Cons: Require Arduino pins Where to place within system? Pros: Easy to understand More options to choose from Less Arduino pins Cons: Laptop near food Complicates use of Arduino libraries Overcomplicating user input?
11
Next Steps Finish construction of the mechanical system Solving current issues – transistors, cutting power during holding, DC motor Determine how to interface Arduino/thermocouple Testing electrical/software with mechanical system
