Conflict-habituated: Unresolved conflict and tension are the norm Devitalized: marriage has lost its zest, liveliness or excitement Passive-congenial: utilitarian in nature, emphasizes practicality rather than emotional closeness Vital: marriages that are full of life, enjoyment and happiness
