Prepositions tell: where something is located: Sarah’s dog is inside the house. in what direction something is going: Sarah’s dog ran from the house. when something happens (time): Sarah’s dog barked during the football game. and the relationship between a noun/pronoun and another word in the sentence: Sarah went with her dog.
