To investigate corruption and maladministration through forensic investigations and civil litigation and thus safeguard, recover and prevent losses to state assets. SIU can only deal with matters that have been referred to it by Presidential Proclamation. 5 SIU STRATEGY STATEMENT The SIU is establishing the capacity required to deliver on its mandate by: Treating staff with equality, respect and meeting their development needs; Becoming an information repository and knowledge manager thus positioning the SIU internationally as the go-to institution for addressing maladministration and fighting corruption as part of our long term vision; Focus on interventions that contribute to system wide impact, build awareness and government competencies to combat maladministration and corruption.
