Issues Approach High-resolution Lagrangian aircraft measurements in unbroken Sc What are the properties and role of the EIL (Entrainment Interface Layer)? Is isothermal entrainment of conditioned EIL air the rule? Are details of processes at Sc top necessary for accurate w e estimates, or do knowledge of surface fluxes, interface jumps, and radiation suffice? How important is CTEI? Does Sc modeling from microphysical- to meso-scales compare favorably with POST observations? Can existing parameterizations of w e be improved?
