1 Simple Scheduling, Gradebook & Report Card Overview

2 Introduction Driving Forces behind the SN Gradebook Project
“Why we are doing this ????” New Report Cards Initiative of Dr. Ackerman and the T& L office New Curriculum alignment Compliance Reporting PIMS State Reporting / HQT Certification Compliance Centralization and integration of Systems and Services Consolidate data collection systems TRA / TCA / K-8 Report Card System / Schoolnet Better tools for teachers Teachers have been asking for a Gradebook system for years Many schools already use their own

3 Old to New There are many similarities between the way we used to do report cards and the new Gradebook way. Many ‘concepts’ remain the same - you will just be doing them differently now! Teacher-Room Assignment (TRA) Teacher-Course Assignment (TCA) Online Grading Subject Marks * Co-Teacher Assignment Comments * Special Education Assignments Corrections Spanish Report Cards Some things are also new and/or different 4 reporting cycles / no specific Correction Cycle New curricula areas to grade (ex. 21st Century Skills) Effort and Behavior marks Co-teacher appears on the report card, but only one user can have access to each subject. Can split between subjects if desired.

4 Training Overview Accessed via My Schoolnet
Simple Scheduling (principal task) Gradebook Optional: Teachers may use SN Gradebook to calculate final grades. Mandatory: Teachers must enter all final grades for marking period in Gradebook Report Cards All K-8 Report Cards generated from SN Gradebook In addition to grades, teachers will enter report card data (comments etc.) into SN Gradebook

5 Gradebook & Report Cards

6 Gradebook Teacher can Administrators can Does NOT include
Create/grade assignments Automatically calculate grades Create interim class level progress reports Generate pre-configured grade related reports See how their students are performing in other courses Create their own ‘custom’ data fields (ex. textbook tracking) Administrators can View / Update any teacher’s Gradebook Assign Special Education teachers to students Run grade related reports (based on teachers using full GB) Does NOT include Attendance (daily or classroom (cuts) – future phase Parent Access to assignments/grades – future phase Seating Chart – future phase

8 Report Cards Teacher using full grading system will
Review final calculated grades (based on Gradebook settings) Override grades if desired Enter other report card items (ie. Academic Supports) Verify Grades (process to lock grades in) Teachers only entering final grades Will manually enter all final grades for the marking period Enter necessary report card items Verify Grades Administrators Will verify all teacher grades Schoolnet/District Admin Will Generate Report Card PDFs and send to printer
