A long time ago, there was a husband and wife. They lived in a lovely pyramid in Egypt. One day, the man’s wife got really sick. The only way to heal his wife was to get a special plant. He knew exactly where to get the plant. He was going to steal it from the mummy next door. The man knew that the mummy was cruel. He wanted to be sneaky so he wouldn’t get caught. 7 The mummy also locked Irisi in a tall pyramid. A few years past and Irisi was 16 years old. She wished she could get out of the pyramid. “ Irisi ! Irisi ! Let down your hair!” yelled the mummy.

It took Irisi a minute before she let her hair down. The mummy started climbing the pyramid by Irisi’s hair.

While the mummy was climbing up the pyramid, there was a prince who was watching the whole thing. So when the mummy left the pyramid, the prince called Irisi’s name. “Irisi! Irisi! Let down your hair!” the prince yelled. Irisi let down her dark long hair and then the prince started climbing.

The prince started talking to Irisi. “ Why is the mummy keeping you prisoner?” asked the prince. “ I don’t know,” replied Irisi. Irisi and the prince continued talking for hours until the prince finally said that he had to go. “ I’ll be back tomorrow to visit you,” he said before he left.

Soon after that, the mummy climbed Irisi’s hair. When he reached the top of the pyramid, he started pulling her hair really hard. She told the mummy that he was hurting her. “ Why was the prince here to see you and why did you let him climb the tower with your hair?” asked the mummy. “I didn’t know he was coming,” replied Irisi. “ I will not let you see him again, and as a punishment I will cut off your hair!” shouted the mummy.

The mummy climbed down the pyramid. When he reached the bottom of the pyramid, he told Irisi to jump out of the window. The mummy said that he would catch her. Irisi jumped out of the window and safely landed in the mummy’s arms.

When the mummy took Irisi into the woods, he grabbed a knife from a small little house. “Now, I shall punish you for what you have done!” the mummy shouted. The mummy still had the knife in his hand, then he cut off all of Irisi’s beautiful long black hair.

The next day, the prince came back to the tall pyramid. ” Irisi, Irisi! Let down your hair!” the prince yelled. Then long black hair came down the pyramid.
