What is my purpose? › Inform? Persuade? Entertain? › What’s my topic? Who is my audience? › What does the reader need to know? › What is something interesting I can share with my reader?

Think of something you are an expert at. Make a list of things, people, or places you know a lot about.

Think of a specific situation that’s happened to you in the last year. Write a short (5 sentences) paragraph about this experience. THEN think about how the situation could’ve turned out COMPLETELY differently. Write an alternate experience with that ending in mind.
