District #34 Vision of Common Core Mathematics It is for all students - high expectations and success for all learners. It is developmentally appropriate - Content is appropriate for each student’s ability. Lessons are scaffolded to meet all learning levels. Involves more than learning facts and procedures - goes deeper, focus is on conceptual understanding Students need to be involved in explaining their understanding. Students will develop a deeper understanding of key concepts, and be able to apply their knowledge to real-world situations.
