General information The vertebrate group of the Green anaconda is reptiles. The scientific name is Eunectes murinus. The lifespan of the green anaconda is 20 years in captivity, years in the wild.

Physical characteristics
The color of this animal is green with black spots. The average length is from 18 to 20 feet. The body covering of this animal is scales. One unique thing about the green anaconda is that it can dislocate it’s jaw for eating big prey.

Habitat The habitat is in South America and are found in, swamps, rainforests, and jungles. The climate is usually rainy.

Behaviors The can have 24 to 40 babies at a time.
It eats aquatic and semi-aquatic animals. This animal gets it’s food by hunting in places where it can’t be seen. Unlike other snakes green anaconda’s lay live young not eggs.

Interesting facts They can grow up to 20 feet long.
A green anaconda laid 100 babies at a time! The longest recording green anaconda was 40 feet long! That record is still not beat!
