Adequate Yearly Progress Adequate Yearly Progress, or AYP, is the a measurement of success defined by the Federal No Child Left Behind Act. In Maryland, our AYP is determined by student success on two High School Assessments (HSA). The good news: We met AYP for 2008. The challenge: We must keep improving our scores.

What does this all mean? We have many things to be proud of. Areas for Improvement Focusing more attention both during the day and after school on struggling students. Using more technology to improve student achievement in ALL classrooms.

Step 1: Intervention We currently offer during the day pull-out tutoring and after school extended learning for our struggling for students. As a staff, we must begin to collect data to be sure that this process is working. Finally, we must allow for time for teachers to collaborate to discuss best practices.

Step 2: Technology Integration In order to meet the needs of the 21 st century learner, we must incorporate more technology into our daily instruction. Professional Development Opportunities will be made available in the following areas of technology: Assistive Technology Web 2.0 Tools FCPS Software Up and Coming Technology for Public Schools
