2. On your A4 sheet of paper create a detailed mind map on the topic of democracy.  What is the best way to run a country? Write down different factors that create a good government and why.

3.  Democracy is an understanding of how citizens can influence decision-making and have a say in how a country is run.  Note the similarities with what you think the best way to run a country is and the differences.

4.  In a democracy, everybody has the right to vote on what should be the law, and what shouldn’t.  In your own opinion, go to the specified area of the room to vote on whether same sex couples should be able to marry

5.  Should bullies be permanently excluded (expelled)?  Pick your corner!

6.  Not many people are targeted by bullies, so they may not vote for the best outcome for everybody if they aren’t personally affected.  Is this fair? As we are a democracy, everybody’s vote counts, so even if a question isn’t personal to them they can still vote on it.

8.  As we live in a democracy, ALL of our opinions are important  We should remember those who are not able to voice their opinion. For example, in North Korea, they aren’t even allowed to leave their country..
