5. Who are the Puritans? ~A group of people living in England who had problems with the Church of England & its ties to the government. ~ Many different groups of people had problems with Church of Eng… so what made them different? *Puritans believed that Church of England was beyond reform!

17. What’s the difference between a Puritan & a Pilgrim?

18. The Puritans wanted to "purify" the Church of England. They did not want to move away from the church as the Pilgrims did. They just wanted to change some of its ways. The Puritans were treated badly in England because of their beliefs. The Puritans came to Massachusetts Bay Colony in 1630. Some Puritans thought their leaders were acting just as badly as the King of England. The group broke apart because of this.
