Inspect with the CMM the clamped L1 parts that lost argon during HT for dimensional changes. Parts may need to be replaced. Consider repeating clamped part HT ???

9 LQ03 Ti Pole Length Study, Fred Nobrega 9 LQ Video-Mtg June 27, 08 Conclusions Ti-6Al-4V pole length change after reaction is not permanent. Slow length change occurs when compressive load is removed Ti-6Al-4V pole length change in free state with 650° C HT grows to near it’s original length Length change is not dependant on the manufacturing processes used. Layer jump parts were machined and pole parts were EDM’ed with some grinding to bring parts within tolerance. 3 different raw material Heats used for all parts not dependent on part length.
