DON’T MAKE THEM WAIT Infographic from https://blog.kissmetrics.com/loading- time/ Page speed and load times are the foundation for a positive user experience on the web If a site is slow, the amount of time users willing to continue to invest decreases with every millisecond.
15
4 Tips To Help Your Website Load Faster 1.HTML Code Optimization Make sure that your website doesn’t have any broken links and unnecessary tags. Broken links always put negative effect on your website loading time. 2. Focus on Content Area: If your website has larger content area for text then you can say that it will take less time to load. Increasing content area also improves readability and quality of website which is important to attract visitors. 3. Optimize Images: Use “save as web” option whenever you edit any image for websites. Optimizing images in web format, will reduce size of image and the pages load much faster. 4. Keep Design and Interface Simple: Websites having simple layouts load much faster. DON’T MAKE THEM WAIT

17
Color should be one of your first concerns when it comes time to start your web site design. Use appropriate colors when designing a website There is no reasons why you should irritate the visitor with bright colors Bright color Irritate eyes tissues, cause eyes fatigue Good colors used can give positive impression to your viewer FIND OUT WHAT COLOURS WILL CAUSE YOUR VISITORS TO HATE YOU article critique}
18
A well thought out color palette can go a long way to enhance the user experience. Complementary colors create balance and harmony. Using contrasting colors for the text and background will make reading easier on the eye. Vibrant colors create emotion and should be used sparingly (e.g. for buttons and call to actions). Last but not least, white space/negative space is very effective at giving your website a modern and uncluttered look. FIND OUT WHAT COLOURS WILL CAUSE YOUR VISITORS TO HATE YOU

NAVIGATIONS
24
The article should imply more direct navigation tips rather than putting in more personal comments on guiding how a site navigation should be. Too many words written on the article when it can be cut short to a simple instruction guide on website navigation. NAVIGATIONS article critique}
25
1.Navigation Should Be Easy to Find Web users are very impatient – nobody is going to stay on your website if they can’t find their way around. It should stand out enough so it doesn’t get lost amongst a sea of content. 2.Keep it Consistent Site navigation should appear in the same location on every page of a site. It should also maintain the same style, type and colors. NAVIGATIONS
26
3.Use Easy-To-Understand Labels The section names of a site should clearly state what lies behind them. Stick to obvious button names such as, “about us”, “news” and “blog”. 4.Less is More Too many navigation buttons, while leading into more sections, may just leave a user with too many choices. NAVIGATIONS
27
Example navigation site presented by Carlsberg http://www.draughtmaster.com/ The navigations on the right are simple and effective. When the user’s cursor hovers over the icon, the text would appear indicating what navigation is it. NAVIGATIONS
28
Example navigation site presented by Freizeitpark http://www.freizeitparkherne.de/ The navigations on the websites are everywhere – it makes it very confusing for users as they wouldn’t know where to click. The website looks like a kid’s art work, the colours and font used are not appealing. NAVIGATIONS
