2 Step 1. Construct a generic table including your raw data that you want to be graphed

3 Step 2. Select (highlight) the portion of the table you would like represented in your graph

4 Step 3. While the table is highlighted, select the "Insert" tab toward the top of the screen

5 Step 4. Once the “Insert” tab is selected, choose “Column Graph” in the “Charts” menu

6 Step 5. Select the type of “Column Graph” you’d like

7 Step 6. Once you have your line graph, you will now need to label the axes To delete “Series 1”, click on it and press delete.

8 Step 7. From the “Chart Tools” menu, select “Layout” and then “Axis Titles” in the “Labels” menu

9 Step 8. From “Axis Titles”, choose which axis you want to label. In this case, “Primary Horizontal Axis”, then select “Title Below Axis

10 Step 9. Once you’ve labeled your X-axis, you will now need to label the Y-axis. Repeat the procedure by selecting “Axis Titles” and then “Primary Vertical Axis”

11 Step 10. Choose the direction that you would like your text to appear on your Y-axis. To make the axis title appear rotated, choose “Rotated Title”

12 Step 11. Choose the appropriate axis title and be sure to include units of measurement if applicable

13 Step 12. Copy and past your graph into your lab report. Be sure to label your figure with a number (e.g. Figure 1.) and include a descriptive title.
