2. Purpose of Environmental Scan The purpose of the Environmental Scan is to provide a broad range of information that will enable decision-makers to understand current and potential trends so that strategic directions and goals for the CTG Implementation plan can be established.

3. Environmental Scan will be based on CTG 5 Strategic Directions Tobacco-free living Active living and healthy eating Evidence-based clinical and other preventive services Social and emotional wellness Healthy and safe physical environment

4. What is an Environmental Scan? an observational assessment of each municipality assess the environment in which Ventura County residents live that can contribute to the incidence of Health Disparities

6. What are we looking for? the political environment the number of fast-food establishments the number of recreation areas availability of alcohol and tobacco availability of fresh food in each community access to transportation access to educational opportunities

7. Why are we collecting this information Data collected will be used to supplement the Community Transformation Grant, Community Needs Assessment and Policy Scan. Data gathered will be used to develop evidence based strategies to address the five strategic directions identified by the Centers for Disease Control, Community Transformation grant, Implementation Plan
