Critics Review: The critics liked the painting for what it meant but the style was the one thing they did not like.

5. Play da Blues This painting was to describe and show jazz music and what it meant to people. Critics Reviews: The critics did not like the unique style of this painting because it mixed Egyptian and Negro styles.

6. Self Portrait For his self portrait, Douglas uses a dramatically different style from his other paintings. Critics Review: They liked how he made his self portrait in a completely different style from his other paintings.
