Requirements  You much graduate high school with an average of 80% or higher, after some research I found that those who get accepted have at least a 96% average  You also need at english, physics and chemistry 12 and Socials and a language 11  UBC Engineering at the Vancouver campus is hard to get into so you might choose to start at the Okanogan campus and transfer

3. Courses  At UBC your first year in any engineering program is the same only after you finish your first year do you specialize  In the mechanical engineering you may choose to specialize in biomedical, thermofluids, and mechatronics, mechanical engineering

4. Cost per Year  Tuition per year at is $4,615.35 for a Canadian resident with the addition of $832.00 for student fees  Books will take $800.00 out of your wallet  And if you choose to live on campus it is estimated that your cost of living will be $13,561.00 a year, luckily I live close enough to UBC that if I choose I could live at home for a few years

5. Why Would I Want to Become a Mechanical Engineer  I want to become a mechanical Engineer because I have always loved engineering and I have been working on my bike since I was a kid and I am currently on a robotics team at Carson  From my research it sounds like the program they offer is very interesting and challenging
