What do we know? STAAR End of Course or EOC performance standards go into effect this spring 2012.

There are three levels that describe student performance: Level III: Advanced Academic Performance (similar to Commended Performance) Level II: Satisfactory Academic Performance (passing) Level I: Unsatisfactory Academic Performance (did not pass)

The next steps to improve: Students: 1.Disaggregate data by student in each content area 2.Work on the skills needed by each student (IEP) 3.Teach students the strategies needed in a “timed test”. Teachers: 1.Provide new professional development to improve instruction to increase teacher effectiveness, and close knowledge gaps.
