3 DG Responsibilities – Communicate/Implement the regional membership plan – Organize clubs to meet needs of varying demographics – Encouraging clubs to change, innovate and be flexible

5 Getting Started Building Your Committee – Qualified dedicated chair – Sub-Committees – organized by function (attraction, engagement, new clubs) &/or region – Three-year positions

6 District Membership Committee Overall Responsibilities Identifies membership needs, challenges, trends and opportunities in the district Develops and implements a multi-year strategy to grow membership through engagement, attraction and new clubs Ensuring retention of existing clubs and members Actively works with club leadership to provide motivation, support and education and resources in development of clubs’ goals and plans to develop a strong and growing membership

7 Getting Started Membership Chair Qualifications – Demonstrated track record – Marketing/sales experience a plus – Excellent communication & people management skills

8 District Engagement Committee – Assist clubs with an engagement plan – Assess needs & progress – Share ideas and resources – Provide training for clubs – Motivate clubs for engagement

9 Creating a Focus on Engagement – Create visibility – Key considerations: - How is progress measured? - How is it being reported and followed up? “Expect & inspect”

10 Engagement Committee – Keep it visible – Manage engagement plan – Follow up with members – Measure & reports progress – Helps maintain focus on engagement

11 District Attraction Sub-Committee chair Duties & Qualifications Proven ability to motivate others & solid understanding of Rotary Helps develop/update long-range membership goals and plans Actively seeks and uses creative ideas and new attraction initiatives, programs and techniques to increase effectiveness of strategies Assist clubs in identifying reaching possible member groups not currently served by Rotary Develop/Implement programs to attract Rotary alumni and other Family of Rotary individuals as Rotary members
