Function of Parts holds eyepiece selects objectives wider angle magnifies 4x medium angle magnifies 10x smallest angle magnifies 40x holds slide to stage adjusts amount of light through stage light goes up through specimen to your eye magnifies 10x hold to carry slide lays on focus on high power hold to carry focus on low/medium power

Steps to Properly Use Microscope 1. Use course adjustment to lower stage all the way to the bottom. DO IT SLOWLY!!! 2. Use nosepiece to turn to low power objective. 3. Lay slide onto stage. Use the stage clips to make sure slide doesn’t move greatly. Make sure specimen is over the light hole. 4. While looking through the eyepiece slowly use the course adjustment to focus specimen.

Steps to Properly Use Microscope 5. Once it is focused you can switch to the medium objective. You shouldn’t have to adjust the focus. If you need to move slide be careful and keep clips on the slide. Do it slowly! 6. You can switch to high power. Use the fine adjustment to focus. DO IT SLOWLY! NEVER LET THE OBJECTIVE TOUCH THE SLIDE! YOU WILL BREAK THE OBJECTIVES LENS!

Steps to Put Away Microscope 1.Remove slide, use coarse adjustment to lower stage all the way down. DO IT SLOWLY! 2.Use revolving nosepiece to put low power objective in place. (Facing down towards stage) 3.Turn off power, unplug electric cord & wrap carefully around bottom of microscope. 4.Put cover over microscope and push back towards wall.
