6. But, There is Hope of Better Times  The economic progress of the PRC under Deng, shows how quickly the DPRK could change  The new leader, Kim Jong-un, shows some signs of liberalizing the country.  Scientometrics shows potential progress

7. The Scientometrics Perspective: Data Cleaning is Essential Since almost all DPRK papers come from Pyongyang, one can search for that city instead of the country name.

8. Rapid Growth of DPRK Papers in Scopus This filter captures almost all DPRK papers, without errors from misclassification. Figure for 2012 is for only part of year; search was done on 10/5/12.
