NMISTC Report March 6, 2010 3 Automatic submission of IEEE TNS and TMI papers to PubMed Central NIH now requires that all publications resulting from NIH-funded research be submitted to PubMed Central within one year of their publication. IEEE currently allows authors to comply with this requirement but requires authors themselves to perform the submission to PubMed Central. NMISC voted unanimously to support a change in IEEE's publication procedure such that papers on work supported by NIH would automatically be submitted to PubMed Central by IEEE. This motion was supported by NPSS AdCom and a letter from the NPSS President (Craig Woody) was sent to IEEE Publication Services and Products Board (PSPB).

6. NMISTC Report March 6, 2010 6 Medical Imaging Conference status and plans Some highlights are: 2009, Orlando: MIC had 581 submissions; 514 (88.5%) were accepted. Overall NSS/MIC attendance 1803 2010, Knoxville: Ron Keyser is General Chair; David Townsend is MIC Program Chair. 2011, Valencia, Spain: David Townsend is General Chair; Alberto Del Guerra is MIC Program Chair. 2012, Anaheim: Tom Lewellen is General Chair; Vesna Sossi will be the MIC Program Chair. 2013: Seoul, Korea. Hee-Joung Kim is General Chair; Jae Sung Lee is being recommended for MIC Program Chair. 2014: Initial list of sites has been sent out to the members of the NSS/MIC Oversight Committee. One member has suggested we consider a site in Europe for 2014.
