25. Calculating Averages in the Gradebook There are four ways to calculate averages: Weighted Categories Weighted Categories and Assignments Total Points Only Category Total Points

26. Weighted Categories Each assignment is converted to a percentage. Assignments are averaged within each category. Averages from each category are then multiplied by their given weight and added to find the term average.

The term average for a student is the sum of the points earned divided by the sum of the points possible.
