2 By the end of this lesson, students will be able to evaluate the relationships between Europeans and Native Americans by analyzing continuing contact between the 2 groups, including wars between the 2 civilizations

3 How did Europeans and Native Americans interact in North America in the 15 th and 16 th centuries?

4 In small groups, students will use graphic organizers to research and then share findings about 5 wars between colonists and Native Americans Pueblo War Beaver Wars Pequot War Chickasaw War King Philip’s War

5 Students will read “A Rhode Island Quaker Sympathizes with the Indians (1675)” Examine the cultural changes that impacted both groups

6 Individually rank the wars 1 to 5 and provide at least 1 piece of relevant historical evidence to support your conclusion and decide if the impact of the cultural change increased or lessened over time

7 Be sure to read “The Transformation of European Society” for Thursday.
